Kuk Khi Khi (Chicken Dung Cell), Laem Sing District was built in B.E. 2436 by French during their capture of Chanthaburi city.
The brick prison was used to imprison Thais who resisted the French in the conflict with Siam over the land on the left side of the Mekhong River.
The prison is a square structure with a wall width of 4.4 metres each, 7 metres high with 2 rows for ventilation and a transparent roof.
It was notoriously known for its torturing as overhead was a pen of chickens which relieved their droppings onto the heads of the inescapable inmates below.
คุกขี้ไก่ สร้างขึ้นเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2436 เมื่อฝรั่งเศสได้เข้ายึดเมืองจันทบุรีในกรณีพิพาทกันด้วยเรื่องดินแดนฝั่งซ้ายแม่น้ำโขง ฝรั่งเศสได้สร้างคุกขี้ไก่ขึ้นเพื่อใช้กักขังคนไทยที่ต่อต้านฝรั่งเศส มีลักษณะเป็นหอสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัส กว้างยาวด้านละประมาณ 4.40 เมตร สูงประมาณ 7 เมตร
