IKEA, the world’s leading home furnishing company from Sweden, is now coming to Bangkok to set up shop. IKEA works towards creating a better everyday life at home for the many people by offering well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible can afford them – and still have money left for other things. Today IKEA employs over 135 000 people in 43 countries, but our beginnings were humble, having started in a small town of Sweden, with just a handful of down-to-earth, ordinary people with a passion for home furnishing.
IKEA is now preparing for its opening of the first 40 000 sq m IKEA home furnishing store in Bangkok towards end 2011. In the first recruitment wave IKEA in April 2010 IKEA Thailand recruited its store management team. Over a 1000 passionate pleas from professional and IKEA fans from all walks of life felt the calling. In the end eight down-to-earth, humble, passionate leaders with strong will power joined IKEA Thailand to build, lead and operate the first IKEA store in Bangkok.
The new IKEA store will be located in Bangna, Bangkok. It will be a stand alone part of the MEGA BANGNA Shopping Center (225 000 sq m) that will be built and opened around the same time.
